Cove Day School provides the necessary learning accommodations and resources for students with special needs. We believe in tailored educational plans that develop strengths and address learning gaps. Parents, guardians, teachers, specialists and students work together to develop these plans, helping students grow into confident, capable and independent life-long learners.

IDEA and Section 504

We comply with the Individuals with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974, which ensures students with disabilities receive the same educational opportunities as students without disabilities. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 protects students from discrimination based on disability.

Section 504 Rights:

  • Participate in and benefit from the school’s educational programs without discrimination based on disability.
  • Be provided an equal opportunity to participate in the school’s nonacademic and extracurricular activities.
  • Be educated in facilities and receive services comparable to those provided to students without disabilities.
  • Receive accommodations and/or auxiliary aids and services to allow your child an equal opportunity to participate in school activities.
  • Receive auxiliary aids and services without cost to allow your child an equal opportunity to participate in school activities.

Cove Day School believes our special education program ensures academic achievement, social-emotional development and overall wellness.
