Cove Day School is an elementary learning environment serving kindergarten through sixth-grade Navajo students. Our positive school culture focuses on academic and emotional well-being. We empower our students by applying Navajo principles, helping them become analytical, critical thinkers and leaders of tomorrow.
Our school community is a conscious and active member of the greater global community. We recognize that all 21st-century global communities must care, respect and share the resources of Mother Earth. Our vision is to prepare students with the life skills, digital skills and academic proficiencies that build Navajo leaders and lifelong learners.
Program Goals:
Navajo principles guide our students, teachers and families through our education plan. Cove Day School students are prepared for successful academic careers through middle school, high school graduation, college and beyond.
Cove Day School students will:
- understand computers, as well as the technologies of today and tomorrow.
- work cooperatively with global communities.
- communicate effectively with other cultures and share the democratic principles of life, independence and generosity;
- acquire life skills and attitudes that lead to better quality lives.
- prepare themselves for the jobs of the future; and

Kayenta Boarding School has implemented the Strategic Transformation of Education Plan initiative – a digital learning portal with a blended learning approach. Our students can maximize this opportunity by accessing the digital learning portal with a 1:1 student-laptop usage ratio. This approach gives our students the advantage of integrated applications, and a robust learning strategy.
